funding through Federal and State grants as noted below.
NJ DOT SFY2010-11 I BOAT NJ Grant
- The Lake Hopatcong Commission will receive
$114,965 for Biomass Removal Program for materials/supplies, services other
than personnel and maintenance/fixed charges. The Biomass Removal
Program is made possible through the generous support of the
NJ DOT I BOAT NJ Program which is financed by vessel registration fees
to benefit the boating public.
NJ DEP SFY 2010 319(h) Grant
- The Lake Hopatcong Commission will receive
$800,000 from NJ DEP for 319(h) Nonpoint Source Pollution Control and
Management Implementation Grant to design and implement additional
stormwater management projects to reduce phosphorus loads entering Lake
Hopatcong. In addition to the three stormwater management projects
scheduled for implementation in Jefferson, Landing (Morris County) and
Hopatcong State Park, this grant will include funding for in-lake water
quality monitoring for three years and stormwater monitoring to assess the
pollutant removal efficiencies of the implementation projects. It should be noted that funds from
the 319(h) grant program cannot be used for the Commission's weed harvesting
program.
